Join us in store for a special Children's Story Time with children's author Debbie Levy! Debbie will read her book, Photo Ark 1-2-3: An Animal Counting Book in Poetry and Pictures, then stay to chat with families and sign books. In addition to her acclaimed work as an author, Debbie recently established the library at the new Maryland location of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp on the Wye River. Founded by Paul Newman, the camp provides transformative experiences for children with serious illnesses and their families, free of charge. We are delighted to welcome Debbie to Flying Cloud for a morning that celebrates books, community, and the joy of sharing stories. Copies of all of Debbie's books will be available for purchase.

Spend an afternoon with Emily Rich, editor of the annual Bay to Ocean Journal, for a reading and book signing at Flying Cloud. Published by the Eastern Shore Writers Association, the journal showcases outstanding poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction from writers across Maryland and beyond. Now in its seventh year, Bay to Ocean Journal celebrates the voices, stories, and shared sense of place that make our literary community so vibrant. Emily will share selections from the latest edition and discuss the journal's mission of fostering creativity, connection, and a home for writers on the Eastern Shore.
Presentation & Book Signing with Lon Holmberg, Author and Photographer of Crossing the Pass of Clouds

Explore a remarkable firsthand account of history with photographer and author Lon Holmberg, whose award-winning book Crossing the Pass of Clouds: An Army Photographer's Vietnam Journal offers a powerful glimpse into the final years of the Vietnam War. Through 147 black-and-white photographs and personal reflections, Holmberg documents the people, places, and pivotal moments he witnessed while serving as photographer to U.S. Army General Creighton Abrams. Join us at Flying Cloud for a reading, presentation, and discussion of this compelling visual journal, followed by a book signing.
